What is a lodge? The holiday home on the
right was the first to be sited at North Lakes. As you can see, it is
essentially a good sized chalet bungalow. In fact it is 2 caravan holiday home
size units bolted together under a pitched roof.
What sort of lodges are available?
There are plenty of different designs on the market ranging from quite simple 2
bedroom chalets to sophisticated 4 bedroom homes. Typically these lodges range
in size from 28 to over 40 feet long by about 20 feet wide. We recommend Cosalt
Holiday Homes - they have a design to suit your needs and budget, and they are
all finished to a very high quality. Other companies do make suitable holiday
homes and you are more than welcome to choose any manufacturer.
What is the approximate cost of a
lodge holiday Home? Obviously this is very dependent on the make,
model, size and interior fittings you choose. As a guide you should expect to
pay about £25,000 for a small 2 bedroom lodge, going up to £60,000
or more for the largest models. These prices will incude all your furniture and
kitchen appliances.
How do I go about buying a lodge holiday
home at North Lakes? The first step is to decide on your budget, what
sort of design you need, and find a manufacturer. You will need to make sure
that the holiday home you intend to buy is technically designated a caravan,
otherwise we cannot site it at North Lakes. We can help you with this process
and manage your purchase for you free of charge. The biggest advantages to you
are a single point of contact, no hassle with arranging transport or scheduling
installation, and impartial expert advice.
Where can I site my holiday
home? Once you have decided on your lodge you will need to pay a
visit to North Lakes. We can then help you choose your location on the site. We
have several areas designated for lodges, each with a slightly different
character. It is important to us that you are happy here, so we will try to
site your lodge where you prefer.
Is the purchase price of my lodge the
only cost? Like any house there are other costs involved, both
one-off at installation, and on-going. One-off costs include transportation
(often provided free by the manufacturer), installation fees, and additional
work (such as fitting a veranda). On-going costs include ground rent, seasonal
maintenance, gas and electricity, etc. We can give approximate costs before a
visit, but we need to know exactly what size and style of lodge you want and
where you want it located to give a final figure. To arrange a visit, or get
some general information on siting and charging, please complete the
enquiry form or call us on 017687 76510.
Can I live in my lodge all Year?
To comply with our site licence we are only permitted to open between 1 March
and 16 January each year. So for 6 weeks of each year you will have to leave
your lodge empty. Also, these holiday homes are not designed for full time
residential occupation.
