Misty Tarn Coarse Fishing

Misty Tarn is well stocked with fish, including Carp, Bream, Perch, Roach and Tench. We also have occassional wild Trout visit during their migration up stream. The lake is a sheltered sun-trap that offers you enjoyable fishing in a very relaxing natural environment just a moments walk from your pitch.










The fishing season each year commences at Easter and finishes on the 14th November. Fishing is strictly by permit only and is subject to the rules below. Any angler found to be in breach of the rules will have their permit cancelled without refund.

Permits can be obtained from Park reception or from one of the two Water Bailiffs. The bailiffs are Mr John Wells and Mr Peter Wilson. Charges for the permits are as follows:

Full Season £20.00 per person
Weekly £10.00 per person
Daily (or part day) £3.00 per person

To ensure that everyone can get equal benefit and enjoyment, and to preserve the health and well-being of the fish, please observe the following Rules:

  1. Residents and temporary residents only
  2. Fishing by Permit only
  3. All fish MUST be returned
  4. Barbless hooks only
  5. Loose feed only
  6. No keep nets
  7. No overnight fishing
  8. No swimming
  9. No boating
  10. No camping
  11. No radios
  12. No mobile phones
  13. No unaccompanied children
  14. Leave no litter
