What is a caravan holiday home?
A caravan holiday home is a spacious, well designed caravan that is permanently
located on a pitch. It still retains its wheels so it can be moved if
necessary, but often has semi-permanent features such as a veranda. Typical
'statics' have 1 to 3 bedrooms, a bath / shower room, kitchen, dining area and
lounge. Sizes range from about 28 to over 40 feet long by 10 or 12 feet
wide.
What is the approximate cost of a
caravan holiday home? Obviously this is very dependent on the
make, model, size and interior fittings you choose. As a guide you should
expect to pay between £25,000 and £80,000 for a new model including
all your furniture and kitchen appliances. We have a close relationship with
Kendal Caravans and we recommend you choose from their extensive ranges. If you
are on a budget you can pick up a pre-owned bargain for between £5,000
and £20,000. To see if we have any pre-owned holiday homes available

How do I go about buying a caravan holiday
home at North Lakes? The first step is to decide on your budget, what
sort of design you need, and find a supplier (we recommend Kendal Caravans).
You will need to make sure that the holiday home you intend to buy is
technically designated a caravan, otherwise we cannot site it at North Lakes.
We can help you with this process and manage your purchase for you free of
charge. The biggest advantages to you are a single point of contact offering
impartial expert advice and no hassles with arranging transport or scheduling
installation, etc.
Where can I site my caravan holiday
home?
Once you have decided on your caravan you will need to pay a visit to North
Lakes. We can then help you choose your location on the site. We have several
areas, each with a slightly different character. A wooded area by the meadow
provides spacious, private pitches, whilst the higher ground to the right of
the main road offers superb views to Skiddaw and beyond. It is important to us
that you are happy here, so we will try to site your caravan holiday home where
you prefer. To arrange a visit please complete the enquiry form or call us on 017687 76510.
Is the purchase price of my caravan
holiday home the only cost? Like any home there are other costs
involved, both one-off at installation, and on-going. One-off costs include
transportation, installation fees, and additional work (such as fitting a
veranda). On-going costs include ground rent, seasonal maintenance, gas and
electricity, etc. For a breakdown of our fees please click
here.
Can I visit or live in my caravan holiday
home all year? To comply with our site licence we are only permitted to
open for caravans and tourers between 1 March and 14 November each year. So for
2½ months of each year you will have to leave your holiday home caravan
empty. Also, these holiday homes are not designed for full time residential
occupation.
What now? To find a caravan
holiday home to purchase try Kendal Caravans or Discovery.
